Welcome to the website of Rolstoel Toegankelijke (=Wheelchair Accessible) Chalet Havelte.To enjoy a nice holiday on a camping/chaletpark when you are partly depending on a wheelchair is not easy in Holland; so is our experience. When we got the chance to build a chalet and adjust it to our own wishes and needs, we grabbed this chance with both hands.
The result is a fully adjusted chalet without thresholds, with wide doors, a comfortable stand-up-chair, with armrests near the toilet, a threshold-less shower with a special chair, a parental bedroom where a wheelchair fits in and central heating system.
Completed with a large terras and a nice garden, this has become our ideal place to enjoy nature and the quiet surrounding in the ‘Pearl of Drenthe’.
Surely we're not able to use the chalet the whole year thru ourselfs, so we decided to offer the opportunity for others to enjoy the features of the adjusted chalet and the surroundings of Havelte. Therefore the chalet is available for rent during a part of the year.
Surroundings
Stretched out forests and heaths, dolmens, pools, small villages and cosy hamlets are characteristic for the Drenthe-area. That the county Westerveld gained the name ‘Pearl of Drenthe’ tells enough about the beauty of nature in this part of Holland. Immediately adjacent to the beautiful nature of Havelte is the quiet chaletpark "Mooi Oavelt" situated.On short distance you will find the waters of Giethoorn ('Venice of the North'), the lowlands of 'De Weerribben' and the forests/heaths of Dwingeloo.
